“Whereas large companies can usually cope with the complexity and technical challenges of EDI implementation and the various flavours demanded by different customers, SMEs often struggle.The EC has, therefore, funded a 2 year project aimed at better integration of SMEs in the e-business processes of the automotive industry and beyond.
The auto-gration (automotive integration) project was awarded at the end of 2009 to a consortium of major stakeholders in the automotive industry: Odette International, BOOST, CECRA, CLEPA, Inova+, COVISINT, FIGIEFA, GALIA, INESC Porto, Odette Sweden, SupplyOn, and TecCom and was started in January 2010. Jörg will present the current status of the project and its reference architecture which is intended to enable the integration of SMEs into e-business networks at low cost and without the requirement of having their own EDI expertise. The architecture is built on existing collaboration frameworks and uses modern communication technologies to extend the established EDI infrastructure.”
